Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba’s four-year doping ban has been significantly reduced to 18 months following a successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The 31-year-old Juventus player was initially suspended in February after a drug test revealed elevated levels of testosterone in his system.

However, CAS determined that the ban was excessive and reduced it to 18 months.

Pogba expressed relief at the decision, stating that the “nightmare is over” and that he can now look forward to resuming his football career.

He maintained his innocence, claiming that he never knowingly took a banned substance and that the supplement he was prescribed by a doctor had no performance-enhancing effects.

The reduced ban means that Pogba will be eligible to return to action in March 2025.

This is a significant development for both the player and Juventus, who have been dealing with his absence due to injury and suspension.
