“Medikal and Fella Makafui’s Actions Hurt me, But I Moved On” – Sister Derby

Ghanaian singer and model Sister Derby has shared her insights regarding her past relationship with rapper Medikal, revealing the emotional challenges and dynamics that contributed to their breakup.

In an interview on Vibe in 5 with Arnold Mensah Elavanyo, Sister Derby candidly addressed the influence of actress Fella Makafui on the demise of her relationship with Medikal, discussing how Fella’s actions affected her personally.

Sister Derby expressed feelings of disrespect during her time with Medikal, recalling, “She was mocking me,” and detailing how Fella would post suggestive comments on social media while allegedly engaging with Medikal.

Despite the emotional turmoil, Derby chose to refrain from retaliation or public confrontation. “I didn’t really care about their relationship, but for him, I wished him well. And of course, it was painful because they were rubbing it in my face. Even those times, I never said anything to her or dissed her. I accepted it,” she explained.

When rumors about Medikal and Fella surfaced, Derby confronted him, but he consistently denied any wrongdoing. However, as the situation became clearer, their relationship ultimately came to an end. After the breakup, Fella’s previously hidden involvement became public, and she openly pursued Medikal.

Years later, following Medikal’s marriage to Fella Makafui, he reached out to Sister Derby, inviting her to perform at one of his concerts. Initially hesitant, Derby cited her discomfort around Fella due to their shared history. “I didn’t want to be in the same space as her,” she admitted. Nonetheless, Medikal assured her that Fella would not be attending, as they were reportedly going through a divorce.

Despite the tumultuous end to their relationship, Sister Derby reflected positively on Medikal’s character, particularly his generosity. “He was incredibly generous,” she acknowledged, noting that this quality remained admirable to her even after their split.
