Taylor Swift’s recent contribution to a food bank in Cardiff has facilitated the distribution of emergency food parcels to 925 individuals. The charity revealed that the donation enabled them to procure one and a half articulated lorries filled with essential food items.
Swift made the donation following her performance in Cardiff earlier in June, continuing her tradition of supporting food banks during her Eras Tour stops.
Rachel Biggs, the CEO of Cardiff Foodbank, expressed deep gratitude for the singer’s generosity, stating, “We are incredibly grateful to the singer for shining a light on the global issue of poverty.” However, she noted that the demand for the charity’s services continues to grow.
“More and more people are needing to turn to us with an increasing number of people needing our support for the first time,” Ms. Biggs explained. She also highlighted that this year, the charity has purchased more than double the amount of food compared to the previous year.
Cardiff Foodbank took to social media to thank Swift, describing the donation as “beyond [their] wildest dreams.” While the charity agreed with Swift’s team not to disclose the specific amount donated, they affirmed that it would “make a huge difference.”
Ms. Biggs mentioned that Swift’s team conveyed the singer’s “personal thanks to everyone working at Cardiff Foodbank for what they do.”
Swift captivated fans with her performance at the Principality Stadium on June 18, delivering an impressive setlist for over three hours during her Eras Tour.
