Ghanaian highlife musician Adane Best has publicly expressed his forgiveness toward fellow artist Kuami Eugene, following previous allegations of copyright infringement between the two.
Adane Best had earlier accused Kuami Eugene of drawing inspiration from his original works in some of his songs. However, during an interview on Asempa Showbiz Review, the ‘Wo Bre Na Wenya’ hitmaker acknowledged Kuami Eugene’s accomplishments in the music industry and encouraged him to continue honing his craft.
“I have said it before… Kuami Eugene is good, very, very good, and I commend him. But he should keep learning. That’s how it’s done. He doesn’t have to think he knows it all,” Adane Best remarked.
Reflecting on the past issues that arose between them, he stated, “If you know music, you can tell that most of the melodies he used were from my songs. I can prove it, but that’s not important now. It’s an old issue, and I don’t want to dwell on it.”
In a conversation with host Kweku Adu Kumi, the highlife legend emphasized his decision to forgive Kuami Eugene, noting that he prefers to move forward rather than dwell on past grievances. “I have forgiven him. I have wronged others before, so when someone wrongs me, like Kuami Eugene, I let it go,” Adane Best said.
