Salam Mustapha Predicts Landslide Win for NPP in 2024

National Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has expressed confidence in the party’s victory in the 2024 polls, despite opinion polls suggesting otherwise. Speaking to a large crowd of supporters in Accra on September 28, 2024, after a Health Walk dubbed “Walk for Bold Solutions,” Mustapha emphasized that the NPP’s focus is solely on winning.

“The only verdict we know going into election 2024 is win or win. We don’t know defeat. All we know is a victory for Dr. Bawumia and nothing else,” he declared ¹. This statement echoes his previous assertions, where he highlighted the party’s strong stance on power and peace, prioritizing power over peace if necessary.

Mustapha urged the youth to be ambassadors of the party, campaigning vigorously to consolidate its gains in the polls. He warned against complacency, emphasizing the importance of unity within the party ². The NPP’s achievements under the current government, according to Mustapha, are substantial, rendering the NDC’s candidacy unnecessary.

The “Walk for Bold Solutions” was organized by the NPP’s national Youth wing, led by Salam Mustapha. Starting at the Obrah Spot and concluding at Mantse Agbona, attendees were addressed by several of the party’s parliamentary candidates for the Greater Accra region.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP’s running mate, also addressed the crowd, emphasizing the party’s commitment to progress and peace. However, he made it clear that the NPP would not relinquish power for the sake of maintaining peace.

The NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Essikado-Ketan Constituency, Charles Onuawonto Bissue, cautioned against repeating the 2008 electoral defeat. He attributed the loss to complacency, highlighting the narrow margin of 23,000 votes.

The party’s focus on unity and active youth engagement is crucial for success in the 2024 elections. As Nana Asafo-Adjei Ayeh, NPP Director for External Affairs, noted, an active youth wing has historically contributed to the party’s electoral victories.

Mr. Paul Apraku Twum-Barimah, Dormaa East Member of Parliament, charged the youth to work diligently, as the party relies on them to deliver the mandate in 2024.

The NPP’s national Youth wing has been actively mobilizing support across regions. In the Bono Region, for instance, Salam Mustapha emphasized unity as the key to a resounding victory.

With the 2024 elections approaching, the NPP’s strategy focuses on consolidating gains, promoting party achievements, and leveraging youth engagement.

As the party prepares for the polls, Salam Mustapha’s confidence in victory reflects the NPP’s determination to maintain power.
