Ghanaian radio host Ohemaa Woyeje has raised concerns regarding the song selection at the funeral of the late gospel artist Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, popularly known as KODA.
Taking to social media, Woyeje expressed her unease specifically about the performance of “Yesu Adi Nkunim” (translated as “Jesus is victorious”) by gospel singers Joe Mettle and others. She questioned the appropriateness of performing the song given the circumstances surrounding KODA’s passing, noting that he left behind a wife and three children.
In her post, Ohemaa wrote, “Yesu adi nkunim in this circumstance? Is that not degrading to God? Why do we make God look bad in unfortunate situations? A 45-year-old man (KODA) died leaving a wife and children.”
