The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has uncovered a number of irregularities during the recent West African School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The Council has vowed to take strict action against exam officials and candidates found guilty of these offenses.
Malpractices identified include the distribution of leaked exam papers, possession of unauthorized materials in exam halls, and the use of mobile devices to cheat.
WAEC has made it clear that such behavior will not be tolerated and will result in severe consequences.
The Council has expressed its appreciation to stakeholders who reported suspicious activities during the examination.
Their vigilance helped to maintain the integrity of the WASSCE.
A total of 460,611 candidates, including 212,954 males and 247,657 females, registered for the examination, which was administered at 1,000 centers across the country.
The WASSCE took place from August 5 to September 20.
