Outspoken Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) leader Akua Donkor has launched a scathing attack on popular TV personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, known as Delay, after feeling disrespected on her show.
In an interview on Atinka FM, monitored by (link unavailable), Akua Donkor recounted how Delay mocked her leadership abilities, implying she was mentally unfit to lead a political party. “I came all the way from Kumasi to her show, and the first thing she asked me was whether I had formed a political party. I said yes, and then she told me that I was mad.”
Akua Donkor claimed Delay said, “How can someone like you, who doesn’t know how to read or write, be the leader of a party? You’re mad.” This prompted a fierce response from Akua Donkor, who asserted that if Delay thought she was mad, then Delay should question her own judgment for inviting her.
The confrontation escalated when Delay allegedly taunted Akua Donkor, suggesting she should take a cane and beat her. Instead, Akua Donkor issued a string of curses, sparking public controversy.
“I won’t beat you, Delay. But let me tell you this: if you think I’m mad, then you will never get married, and you will never give birth. For the rest of your life, you will never find a good man, and you will never have a child,” Akua Donkor declared.
Akua Donkor emphasized that Delay’s insults about her being illiterate and uneducated were unwarranted, especially after traveling from Kumasi to Accra for the interview. “I bought my own fuel, and drove from Kumasi to Accra just to be disrespected. You have accused me of being a witch in the past, and now you call me mad. This is my message to you.”
The feud has sparked widespread reactions on social media, debating the ethics of Delay’s interviewing style and Akua Donkor’s response. As the public weighs in, this high-profile feud shows no signs of cooling down.
