In a recent interview, Ghanaian media personality and reggae artist Blakk Rasta ignited a spirited debate by asserting that Stonebwoy surpasses both Sarkodie and Shatta Wale when considered together.
“I like Stonebwoy because he does reggae and dancehall,” Blakk Rasta explained when discussing his admiration for the artist. When pressed on whether Stonebwoy is superior to Shatta Wale, he confidently stated, “Stonebwoy is better than Shatta Wale and Sarkodie combined.”
He elaborated, “As a musician, Stonebwoy is doing far better than the two combined. You can’t separate the performance from the musician.”
Blakk Rasta went on to highlight Stonebwoy’s international presence, claiming that he is the most featured African artist in Jamaica, the genre’s birthplace. “In almost every reggae and dancehall festival in the world, you’ll find Stonebwoy,” he noted.
In a pointed critique of Shatta Wale, he referred to him as a “local champion” and a “joker,” adding, “I don’t have any respect for those kinds of champions.”
