Renowned gospel musician Selina Boateng has addressed speculation surrounding her frequent gym visits, clarifying that her motivation stems from a commitment to good health, not weight loss.

In an interview with Michael Ola on Neat FM, monitored by (link unavailable), Selina opened up about her fitness journey and emphasized the importance of staying healthy as one ages.

“I come from a family of thick women, so going to the gym isn’t about slimming down,” Selina explained. “It’s about health. After childbirth, the body changes, and it’s essential to take care of yourself.”

As a gospel artist, Selina noted that regular exercise has significantly improved her stamina and vocal strength. “Some people get tired after singing for just 30 minutes, but I can perform for an hour or two without feeling exhausted. Our work is all about breathing, and exercising helps with that.”

Selina shared a personal anecdote about encouraging a fellow presenter to join her at the gym after witnessing the presenter’s breathlessness during a brief dance session. “Working out is not just for weight loss but also overall well-being,” she stressed.

The gospel star revealed that her gym routine has also resolved issues with her voice, which she used to lose frequently. “Ever since I started exercising, that problem has been solved,” she added, highlighting the long-term benefits of fitness for artists.

Selina concluded with a message encouraging others to prioritize their health. “You can have the talent to sing like Celine Dion, but without good health, you can’t perform to the best of your abilities. Fitness is essential for sustaining our gifts.”
