Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Vice Presidential Candidate, cautioned trainee nurses and midwives against succumbing to temporary government inducements.
Speaking in the Ellembele Constituency as part of her Western Region tour, Opoku-Agyemang emphasized prioritizing long-term plans for a brighter future.
The former Education Minister highlighted the previous NDC government’s commitment to healthcare, criticizing the current administration for failing Ghanaians.
“We won’t make false promises,” Opoku-Agyemang stated. “We acknowledge our broken economy and difficulties.”
Ghana’s economic struggles and debt repayment issues were emphasized. Opoku-Agyemang questioned the government’s priorities, citing unfinished infrastructure projects.
“Why use money for temporary gains instead of completing the male hostel or providing lecturers’ accommodations?” she asked.
The NDC Vice Presidential Candidate urged trainee nurses to consider their profession’s future. “Don’t fall for temporary inducements,” Opoku-Agyemang advised. “Your vote should support healthcare progress.”
Opoku-Agyemang’s message resonated with trainee nurses, emphasizing the need for sustainable healthcare solutions.
