Renowned Ghanaian gospel artist Selina Boateng has shed light on the physiological benefits of sex, describing it as a vital aspect of human life and a form of medicine for both physical and mental well-being.

In an interview on No.1 FM’s Journey to Heaven programme with Taller Dee, Selina emphasized the positive effects of sexual intimacy, particularly within the confines of marriage. “Sex is medicinal. It’s medicine,” she stated, highlighting its significance.

The singer revealed that medical professionals often inquire about sexual activity during health check-ups, citing personal experience. “Sometimes when you report being sick to the hospital, the doctor asks if you’ve had sex. Yes, I’ve been asked that before.”

Selina, known for her hit song “Alpha and Omega,” explained that sexual activity releases hormones promoting overall well-being. She noted that intimate acts, such as “smooching,” can alleviate stress-related issues like headaches and depression. “It can relax your mind in such a beautiful way. It is part of the biological process. God made it so.”

While stressing the importance of sex in marriage, Selina drew a clear line on premarital sex, deeming it immoral and contrary to biblical teachings. “If you’re married, you have every right to use sex… If you’re not married, it is immoral to do it. It is not against the Bible when you’re married.”

The gospel star also cautioned against public displays of affection, advocating for respect for public decency. In a personal revelation, Selina shared that she uses sex as a means to relax after performances whenever possible.
