Bawumia Vows to Build Mini Harbour and Sea Defense for Sege if Elected
- The projects aim to enhance the local fishing industry
- The sea defense system is designed to mitigate the impact of damaging tidal waves
- Bawumia promises to report on the progress of these initiatives after four years in office
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, has committed to constructing a sea defense system and a mini harbour for Sege.
Dr. Bawumia said these projects will protect against destructive tidal waves and boost the local economy.
While addressing chiefs, traditional leaders, and residents during his campaign tour in the Greater Accra Region, Bawumia underscored the urgent need for infrastructure development in Sege, emphasizing its role as a crucial fishing hub.
He stated that a mini harbour would modernize the fishing industry, improving trade and market access for local fishermen and traders.
“We need a mini harbour,” Bawumia declared. “I am determined to make this happen for you, along with the necessary sea defense. If I return in four years, I’ll present a report on the progress we’ve made in safeguarding this community.”
