According to President Akufo-Addo, the Jamestown Fishing Harbour will revolutionize the fishing industry.

The facility boasts an array of amenities, including a cold storage unit, fish processing center, fire and police station, and crèche.

These amenities will not only enhance fish catches but also minimize post-harvest losses.

The harbour is expected to generate approximately 4,000 direct and indirect jobs for youth in the Ga community.

President Akufo-Addo emphasized the transformative impact of the project.

“It will create jobs, empower the economy, and revitalise the lives of the fisherfolk and traders of Jamestown,” he stated.

The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, appealed to the government to reserve employment quotas for Ga youth.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II stressed that Ga youth should not be mere observers but active beneficiaries of the harbour’s economic opportunities.
