Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has assured students of the Nurses and Midwifery Training College in Teshie that the government is working to prevent delays in the payment of nursing and teacher trainee allowances.
Dr. Bawumia made this promise while addressing the students as part of his constituency-focused nationwide campaign in Ledzekoku.
He emphasized that his government is committed to continuing the payment of trainee allowances, stating that “an allowance delayed is better than being totally cancelled.”
The Vice President began his tour of Ledzekoku by engaging with opinion leaders and other recognized groups at Teshie, where he listened to their challenges and shared ideas on how to solve them.
This stakeholder engagement also provided an opportunity for Dr. Bawumia to outline his policies, particularly his “Bold Solutions for Business and Jobs” initiative.
Dr. Bawumia then interacted with the people at the Teshie Tsuii Bleeoo Lorry station, before proceeding to the Nursing and Midwifery Training College.
At the college, Dr. Bawumia highlighted the achievements of the government, particularly in the health sector, which he believes have put the country on the right path.
He announced that his government will restore the waiver of taxes on vehicles for nurses and also touched on the AGENDA 111 project, which aims to improve healthcare infrastructure.
The Aspiring MP for Ledzekoku, Bernard Okoe Boye, urged the students to vote for a President who has a possibility mindset to take the country forward.
Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tour will continue in La and its environs, where he will engage with more constituents and share his vision for the country.
