Nigerian Afrobeats singer Patoranking is in mourning following the tragic death of his younger sister, Chioma, and her husband, George, due to a devastating gas explosion.
The explosion, reportedly caused by an inverter battery, occurred at the couple’s residence in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. The incident happened just a day after Chioma and George celebrated the opening of their new home and their child’s birthday.
Instagram blogger Cutie Juls initially reported the news, stating that Chioma died instantly in the explosion. George, who survived the initial blast, unfortunately succumbed to his injuries on September 11, 2024.
According to Cutie Juls, Patoranking made significant efforts to assist his brother-in-law, including providing medical support and blood donations, but George could not be saved.
The couple’s 3-year-old son, who was with his grandmother at the time, survived the tragedy. The news of Chioma and George’s untimely deaths has caused profound grief within the entertainment industry, with many offering condolences and prayers for the bereaved family.
