The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially announced Dr. Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama as its parliamentary candidate for the Walewale constituency.
This decision was made by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NPP during a meeting held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
The NEC unanimously confirmed Dr. Mahama as the party’s candidate for the Walewale constituency.
Dr. Mahama’s candidature follows the withdrawal of Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu, the current Member of Parliament for Walewale, from the parliamentary contest.
The NPP has commended Hon. Abudu’s decision to bow out of the race, describing it as a show of great regard and unity.
The party’s statement noted that Hon. Abudu’s resignation, together with that of one of the two aspirants, left Dr. Mahama as the only candidate for the seat.
