Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the vice-presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has delivered a stern message to anyone contemplating disturbances surrounding the 2024 elections.
During a campaign visit to the Asunafo South Constituency in the Ahafo Region, Dr. Opoku Prempeh made it clear that any individual engaging in violent activities will face strict consequences.
Addressing a gathering of Chiefs, clergy, and local supporters in Noberkaw, he reaffirmed the NPP’s commitment to managing Ghana’s resources responsibly while promoting both economic growth and environmental protection.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh emphasized that no political affiliation will shield those involved in violence from legal repercussions, underscoring his dedication to upholding the rule of law. His remarks come in the wake of a recent clash between NDC and NPP supporters in Kwapong, which almost escalated into serious conflict.
He reassured the residents of Asunafo that justice will be served to those who break the law, and that the electoral process will be conducted smoothly and peacefully.
Supporting this stance, Frank Aduse Poku, the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Asunafo South, highlighted ongoing developmental projects under the NPP government and encouraged voters to support the continuation of these initiatives.
