- Efia Odo warns "eat at your own risk" after disassociating from restaurant
Ghanaian socialite Efia Odo has recently clarified her ownership stake in the upscale restaurant, Eats Avenue, located in East Legon. Contrary to her previous claims of full ownership, Odo now asserts that she holds approximately 40% of the restaurant.
In response to mounting speculation and rumors, Odo has shared official documents online to substantiate her claim. The clarification follows reports suggesting that she has been removed from her managerial position by the restaurant’s principal owner, Kobby Sarpong, who is also known for his Ridge Condos in Kumasi.
Initially, Efia Odo had prominently advertised Eats Avenue as her own venture on ‘United Showbiz’. However, recent developments have sparked confusion and debate. Reports indicate that a dispute between Odo and the restaurant’s actual owner, Sarpong, has led to a significant shift in the restaurant’s operations and social media presence. Sarpong is reported to have taken over the restaurant’s social media marketing, creating new accounts and advising followers to disengage from those previously managed by Odo.
In light of these changes, Odo has taken to social media to address the situation. She posted: “My 40% ownership of Eats Avenue Restaurant is very factual and backed by law. I don’t necessarily need to be at the helm of affairs as a proud legal owner. If in doubt, kindly refer to Reg. No. CS033890324 & TIN: C0063837021 on the Ghana Register of Companies records. Thank you.”
Shortly thereafter, Odo announced her disassociation from the restaurant, stating: “I’m no longer affiliated with Eats Avenue. Eat at your own risk. Thank you.”
The announcement has elicited a range of reactions from fans and followers. Pulse entertainment has compiled some of the comments:
- @NiiWiaboEsq questioned: “Thought you had 40% shares? And ‘Eat at your own risk’ is potentially defamatory.”
- @styles_jp8 remarked: “Thought you said you have 40% shares??? So now you are tarnishing your company’s image? I’m confused anuanom.”
- @0panaa_1 inquired: “Them sack company owner ah how?”
- @GhanaYesu_ commented: “Few minutes ago, you were saying you own 40%, and now you’re saying you’re not affiliated with Eats Avenue again? This means you’ve sold your percentage so now the only restaurant you have now is your toto?”
- @BenopaOnyx1 added: “Someone who owns 40% of the restaurant got no affiliation with it and people can eat there at their own risk? Lmao.”
