Samia Nkrumah, the daughter of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, has publicly addressed rumors regarding her involvement with the New Force Movement, led by Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar.
In a recent interview on Starr Chat with Bola Ray, Samia Nkrumah clarified that while Cheddar did approach her to be his running mate, she declined the offer. She emphasized her commitment to her work in the Jomoro constituency in the Western Region, where she has made significant contributions.
“Cheddar reached out to me to be his running mate but I told him I’ve invested too much in Jomoro and I believe the Nkrumah’s tradition must be represented in parliament in terms of decision-making,” Samia Nkrumah said.
The speculation surrounding her potential role gained momentum after a local prophet claimed to have received a divine revelation indicating that Cheddar would become Ghana’s next President. According to the prophet, Cheddar was instructed by God to enlist Samia Nkrumah’s support.
Despite these rumors, Samia Nkrumah has confirmed that she will not be joining the New Force Movement.
