The Africa Cinema Summit, a three-day event, aims to unite stakeholders from the global cinema industry with a focus on Africa. This summit is distinguished as the first of its kind to be held on the continent, addressing unique aspects of the African cinema space, including its challenges and opportunities.

The summit is designed to be a results-oriented platform, facilitating networking, partnership-building, lead generation, and potential deal-making among participants.

The inaugural edition of the summit, held last year, attracted filmmakers from 20 African countries, fostering discussions on the advancement of cinema across the continent. The 2024 summit seeks to build on this momentum, emphasizing improvements in local content production and consumption and advocating for increased investment in the cinema sector.

Leading the NFA delegation was Executive Secretary Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante, accompanied by Gyasiwa Ansah, Head of Production, and Daniel Amoateng, Head of Film Classification.

The summit is organized in collaboration with various partners, including Filmhouse Group (Nigeria), Silverbird Cinema (Ghana), Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria, Century CineMax (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda), and Canal Olympia, among others.
