Fix TVET Teachers’ Issues in 2 Weeks – NAGRAT

The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has issued a two-week ultimatum to the Ministry of Education.

The union is demanding swift action to address challenges faced by professional teachers in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

NAGRAT’s concerns include the lack of consultation with teacher representatives during the development of the scheme of service for TVET teachers.

Another issue is the migration of teachers from the Ghana Education Service to TVET without their consent.

NAGRAT President Angel Carbonu revealed that the union has met with the Ministry to discuss these issues.

During the meeting, the authorities acknowledged the anomalies and agreed to put measures in place to address them.

A two-week timeline was agreed upon to resolve the issues, after which NAGRAT will reconvene to assess progress.

Carbonu emphasized that NAGRAT will closely monitor the situation and take further action if necessary.

The union is seeking a prompt and satisfactory resolution to the challenges faced by TVET teachers.

NAGRAT aims to ensure that the Ministry takes concrete steps to address the anomalies and improve the working conditions of TVET teachers.
