John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to direct his parliamentary candidates to remove their political posters from the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) equipment.
Speaking at a rally in Yeji, Pru East District, Mahama criticized the placement of New Patriotic Party (NPP) campaign material on equipment funded by taxpayer money.
Mahama emphasized that the DRIP equipment, which is meant for national development, should not bear any party insignia, as it is a public asset funded by all Ghanaians.
He urged President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia to remember their responsibility to serve the entire nation, not just their party.
He warned that if the NPP does not comply with this request, the NDC will consider further action.
“The taxes paid by every Ghanaian, regardless of political affiliation or religion, funded this equipment. It belongs to all of us, not just the NPP,” Mahama asserted.
He demanded an immediate removal of the posters to uphold the equipment’s intended purpose.
