Ghanaian Amapiano artist DJ Azonto has unveiled his new stage name, “Ice Boss,” a move he attributes to the strong encouragement from his fans and his management team, the Rolls Royce Family.
In a recent interview, the “Fa No Fom” hitmaker revealed the motivation behind the name change. “I’ve been contemplating this name change for a very long time, and I have decided to go with ‘Ice Boss’ because I am the ‘king’ of sparkling jewellery in Ghana,” he said.
DJ Azonto explained that the decision came after discussions with his team. “So my team and I sat down and have finally agreed to change the name, and I hope my fans would address me as the ‘Ice Boss’ henceforth,” he added.
The artist, who has garnered significant acclaim with his hit single “Fa No Fom,” also promised exciting new music projects under his new moniker. He hinted at an upcoming collaboration with one of Ghana’s top rappers.
DJ Azonto’s previous work earned him multiple awards, including notable recognition for “Fa No Fom,” and a nomination for Best New Artiste of the Year at the 2023 Ghana Music Awards.
