- Manu finds joy in single parenting, calling his kids "my friends, my happiness"
Actor Kwaku Manu has spoken openly about the challenges and rewards of raising his four children alone, following his separation and divorce from his wife over three years ago.
In a revealing interview, the Kumawood star discussed the complexities of being a single parent and the adjustments he has had to make.
“It’s not easy to raise kids alone, especially if their mothers are not around,” Kwaku Manu admitted, highlighting the difficulties he faces without his children’s mother.
To maintain discipline and order in his home, Manu has set strict rules, which he believes are essential for ensuring respect and proper behavior. “What makes it easier for me is that there are rules in my home. My kids are not allowed to behave anyhow or disrespect the people that take care of them in my home,” he explained.
Manu also addressed the issue of mothers leaving their children with their fathers, stating, “If you abandon them, I’ll take them in.”
Despite these challenges, Manu described his children as his greatest joy and closest companions. “They are my friends, my happiness. We’re always excited to see each other. I spend most of my time with them at home because I’m not the type to go out and chill recklessly. I’m not a careless dad,” he shared.
The actor’s ex-wife, Naa Okailey Nyarko, has recently remarried, this time to a white man. Kwaku Manu publicly confirmed their separation in a 2022 interview with Kobby Kyei. While he did not disclose the reasons for their split, Manu acknowledged that they made efforts to salvage their marriage before ultimately deciding to part ways.
Manu emphasized that there is no universal formula for a successful marriage. “Each relationship is unique,” he said, underscoring the idea that every partnership has its own dynamics.
