“My Wedding Was a Secret to Shield Wife from Social Media” – Bisa Kdei

Ghanaian highlife musician Bisa Kdei has disclosed that he intentionally kept his wedding private to protect his wife from potential negative comments on social media.

In a recent interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Bisa Kdei explained his decision, saying, “I wasn’t scared. I am protecting my wife from social media. I don’t want people to come and say anything about my marriage. That is how I like it.”

The musician shared that his wedding was a discreet event held in January, and he had hoped to keep it under wraps. “My wedding was a coded affair. I did it in January. I didn’t want anybody to hear about it. Somebody leaked the video. There were soldiers and a lot of people at the ceremony,” Bisa Kdei told Hitz FM.

He also referenced a similar experience at one of President Akufo-Addo’s daughter’s weddings, where despite efforts to restrict photography, unauthorized images were still shared online. Bisa Kdei highlighted this incident as a reason for his own desire for privacy.

Additionally, Bisa Kdei recounted how news of his mother’s passing appeared on social media before he could make a formal announcement, further underscoring his preference for maintaining personal matters away from public scrutiny.

Bisa Kdei married his partner on January 13, 2024, in a private ceremony attended by close friends and fellow musicians, including Gyakie, Sista Afia, and Sefa.
