Godwin Obeng, widely known as Bills Berry (formerly Alisha), has disclosed that his introduction to homosexuality came through his pastor. Speaking on Joy Prime’s “Changes” show with Roselyn Felli, Berry detailed how his pastor played a pivotal role in his early experiences with homosexuality.

Berry, who described himself as having feminine features from birth, said he was unaware of such practices until his encounter with his pastor. He recounted a time when he was living independently and lacked financial support from his family. According to Berry, the pastor, who was associated with the church he attended, initially made false claims about needing him for teen classes and other church-related activities. Instead, the pastor engaged in sexual relations with him and later recommended him to other men who expressed interest.

“My pastor was the one who introduced me to it and destroyed me,” Berry revealed. He continued, “Someone would see me, discriminate, and insult me. I was ‘Kojo Besia’ and I’m proud of myself. I haven’t learned anything from a lady. There are times I would try to dress and walk like a man but would still go back to walking like a lady.”

Following these experiences, Berry admitted he continued engaging in homosexual activities for financial reasons, leading to a loss of trust in religious figures and ultimately causing him to stop attending church.

Currently, Berry has turned his life around by training in cosmetology, graduating, and opening his own salon. He is now focused on establishing his business and maintaining financial stability to avoid returning to his previous lifestyle. Berry confessed that he had been with over thirty men.

Berry also expressed a desire to have children, noting that some of his colleagues who faced stigmatization have been able to start families. However, he struggles to find a partner willing to accept his proposal due to his appearance.

Despite his past experiences, Berry remains hopeful and believes in God. He expressed readiness to join a church that could offer him a path to redemption. “I’m ever ready because my name is Godwin,” he concluded during the interview.
