Alan Kyerematen, founder and leader of the Movement for Change, has pledged sweeping reforms aimed at uplifting Zongo communities if he wins the presidency.
A key part of his plan is to incorporate Arabic school teachers into the Ghana Education Service (GES) so they can benefit from regular salaries.
Alan Kyerematen has also committed to placing Makaranta teachers on the government payroll.
He emphasized the need for this change, stating, “It’s unfortunate that Makaranta teachers aren’t included in the Ghana Education Service. Teachers are teachers everywhere, and I am dedicated to integrating Makaranta teachers into the GES when I become president.”
At the Zumunta launch event, the Zongo faction of his party, Alan Kyerematen criticized both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their failure to support Zongo communities despite receiving their votes.
During his visit to Darkuman in the Ablekuma North constituency, Alan Kyerematen engaged with a large audience, including local leaders, chiefs, and imams, to garner support for his presidential bid.
