A tragic accident on the Akyem Old Tafo to New Tafo OPASS Junction Highway in the Abuakwa North Municipality has claimed the life of a key local figure and left another person critically injured.
The early Sunday morning collision involved a Hyundai H100, driven by Kudjo School Boy, Chairman of the Cooperative Driver’s Union, who died instantly when his vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
The passenger is now receiving emergency care at Tafo Government Hospital. This incident has intensified calls from residents for immediate road safety improvements, highlighting ongoing concerns about this dangerous stretch of highway.
