Mohamed Salah has hinted that he may be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, stating that no contract talks have taken place.

The Egyptian forward’s current deal expires next summer.

Despite scoring in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Manchester United on Sunday, Salah suggested that he was treating the match as his farewell to Old Trafford. “I was coming to the game thinking it might be the last time,” he told Sky Sports. “Nobody at the club has talked to me about contracts yet, so I’m just playing it by ear.”

When questioned about Salah’s comments, Liverpool manager Arne Slot expressed his desire to keep the player but avoided discussing contract specifics.

“Mo is a fantastic player, and we’re happy to have him here,” Slot said. “We’ll see what happens next year.”

Salah’s future at Liverpool has been a topic of speculation since last year when the club rejected a £150 million offer from Al-Ittihad.

With his contract nearing its end, the possibility of a departure remains a real possibility.
