KA Technologies, the company in charge of distributing laptops for the government’s One Teacher – One Laptop program, has announced the successful implementation of the initiative.
More than 300,000 educators from the Ghana Education Service (GES) have benefited from this program, which seeks to modernize teaching and improve research capabilities among teachers.
In a statement released over the weekend, the company announced, “We are delighted to report the successful completion of the nationwide distribution, training, and deployment of laptops to eligible teachers (including those in Kindergarten, Primary, Junior, and Senior High Schools), teachers on study leave, and non-teaching staff within the Ghana Education Service (GES).”
The company also emphasized the creation of 24/7 Aftercare Centers across the nation, providing ongoing customer and technical support for teachers.
“Our user-friendly Katcare App enables teachers to book repair services and purchase laptop accessories. For any complaints or inquiries, teachers can also contact our toll-free number 0800790555,” the statement added.
KA Technologies expressed gratitude to the teacher unions—the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT)—as well as other stakeholders, the government, the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, and regulatory bodies for their support in ensuring the successful rollout of the program.
“As a local company, we are proud to have played a role in advancing digital education in Ghana and remain dedicated to leveraging technology to drive progress across all sectors of the Ghanaian economy,” the statement concluded.
