Ebo Taylor Releases New Single and Announces Tour Dates for Album Launch

Ghanaian music legend Ebo Taylor has unveiled a new single titled ‘Obi Do Woa’ from his highly anticipated album, Jazz is Dead 021, which is set to be released in October.

Following recent performances at notable events such as the We Out Here Festival and Hootananny in Brixton, UK, as well as Festivalle in Sicily, Taylor continues to make waves in the music scene. The new track highlights Taylor’s exceptional vocal prowess, offering fans a glimpse into the forthcoming album, which features collaborations with Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad.

The single was recorded at Linear Labs studio in Los Angeles, alongside members of Taylor’s Ebo Taylor Family band from Ghana. Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, who spearhead the Jazz Is Dead project, expressed their deep respect and honor in working with Taylor, a celebrated figure in highlife music.

Founded in 2017, the Jazz Is Dead movement, led by Younge, Muhammad, concert producer Andrew Lojero, and industry veteran Adam Block, is dedicated to honoring the legacies of jazz and world music pioneers. The movement involves exploring rare records and artists, with the aim of preserving and celebrating their contributions through live performances, visual media, and new recordings. Jazz Is Dead 021 marks the third installment in their compilation series.
