Danielle Moore of Crazy P Dies at 52

Danielle Moore, the beloved lead singer of the electronic group Crazy P, has passed away at the age of 52. The band confirmed the “unbelievable and shocking news” through a statement on Instagram.

“We are devastated to announce the unbelievable and shocking news that our beautiful Danielle Moore has died in sudden and tragic circumstances,” the statement read. The cause of Moore’s death was not specified, but the band honored her memory, highlighting her life filled with “love, compassion, community, and music.”

The post expressed the group’s profound grief: “We cannot believe the news ourselves and we know it will be the same for all of you. She gave us so much and we love her so much. Our hearts are broken. We need time to process that this has happened.”

Moore, who joined Crazy P in 2002, was an integral part of the group’s success, contributing to the release of seven studio albums. The band, recently seen supporting Róisín Murphy on tour, described Moore as a driving force in their music and community.

Róisín Murphy took to social media to pay tribute, calling Moore “an amazing person and an amazing singer, performer, and songwriter.” Murphy reflected on Moore’s impact, writing, “I know there will be a great sense of loss and mourning across our community.” She added, “She touched everybody she met with light and love. Sending sincerest condolences to those friends and family closest to her. I, like so many, loved and admired her.”

In memory of Moore, The Times’ Ed Potton previously noted Crazy P’s unique appeal, describing them as “the ideal festival band” with Moore’s “soul diva” voice, “burlesque dancer” moves, and “nightclub compere” wit, which made them stand out.
