Nana Kwame Bediako, founder of The New Force, has unveiled a transformative vision for Ghanaian governance with his new manifesto launched on September 1.
He argues that the current system has fallen short and proposes a radical overhaul through what he calls “apostolic governance.”
In his presentation, Nana Kwame Bediako widely known as Cheddar introduced the concept of Pillar 9, which outlines a government streamlined into 12 essential ministries.
He described “apostolic governance” as more than just a name—it’s a strategic framework inspired by the 12 disciples of Christ, designed to create a more effective and sustainable leadership structure.
Bediako’s plan features a government led by one president and supported by twelve ministers, each overseeing a specific pillar of governance. This streamlined approach is intended to enhance focus and efficiency across crucial sectors.
The proposed ministries under this new model include Finance, Trade, Energy, Education, Health, Justice, Agriculture, Interior, Foreign Affairs, Tourism, Business and Employment, and Defence. Cheddar, as Bediako is also known, committed to restructuring each ministry to align with his vision for a thriving nation.
He plans to refocus the Finance Ministry on investment to secure better returns, rejuvenate the Trade Ministry to boost exports and reduce import dependency, and establish a national seed bank through the Agriculture Ministry to ensure food security and support agricultural growth.
Cheddar emphasized that these twelve ministries, or “apostles,” will be pivotal in maintaining and strengthening Ghana’s core societal pillars, ensuring stability and progress under his leadership.
