President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured Ghanaians of a transparent and peaceful election process this December, firmly rejecting accusations that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) plans to manipulate the results.
Akufo-Addo stated that election rigging is fundamentally against the principles of the NPP and reiterated the party’s commitment to democratic values and a fair electoral process.
The President, addressing the 13th Biennial and 51st Conference of the Methodist Church of Ghana in Kumasi, emphasized his dedication to a peaceful electoral transition.
He affirmed that his leadership would continue to prioritize calm and order, as it did during his tenure.
Akufo-Addo also pledged to support the role of security agencies in maintaining the country’s peace and stability. He expressed confidence that these agencies will uphold their duties, ensuring that the elections on December 7, 2024, are free from violence and intimidation.
He concluded by asserting that the true will of the Ghanaian people, not the desires of any candidate or party, will shape the outcome of the elections.
