Iconic Ghanaian gospel musician Esther Smith has emphasized the importance of treating gospel music with the seriousness it deserves, highlighting its deeper significance beyond mere fame.
In an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, Smith stressed that gospel music involves profound spiritual elements. “There are so many attacks in it. Therefore, we should take it seriously. It’s not about fame,” she said.
Smith contrasted gospel music with hiplife, explaining that gospel focuses on ministration. “When it comes to praises and worship, you are ministering Christ, the anointed one to the people, to the sickness so we need to take it very seriously,” she added.
Fans of gospel music can anticipate a powerful lineup of performances at an upcoming event featuring renowned artists including Mark Anim, Emens, Adom Kiki, Nana Yaw Asare, Becky Bonney, Diana Hammond, Kweku Teye, Minstrel Maadwoa, Paa Sammy, and Joyce Blessing.
