Ghana Dance Festival Celebrates 10th Edition with Afrolatin Congress

The 10th edition of the Ghana Dance Festival is set to commence with the Afrolatin Congress, running from August 29th to September 1st, 2024.

The festival will begin following a week-long pre-party hosted at various dance clubs across Takoradi, Kumasi, and Accra.

The Afrolatin Congress promises four days of exceptional dance experiences, featuring Salsa, Kizomba, Bachata, and Afro Dance. The event will include a series of workshops, dance parties, performances, and tourism activities.

On Thursday, the festivities kick off with Akwaaba Night, held at the Marriot Hotel, Airport. Friday will offer a day of tourism with visits to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and other notable sites around Accra, followed by a nighttime DJs Party at Kavalli Night Club in Osu. Saturday’s schedule features daytime workshops led by both local and international instructors, culminating in a Grand Finale with performances by top industry talents. The event concludes on Sunday with a Poolside jam at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.

Attendees will include participants from Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale, and Accra, as well as international guests from Benin, Togo, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, and South Africa.

Robert Klah, CEO of Dancetera, shared, “This edition of the festival is the 10th edition. It’s been tough, it’s been convoluted and very daunting. But the only reason why I have come this far with this project is because of colleagues, friends, family, and God. Without you, there is no Ghana Dance Festival.”
