FC Samartex President Richard Nsenkyire has confidently stated that his team is not intimidated by the stature of Raja Club Athletic ahead of their upcoming clash in the CAF Champions League. The Ghanaian champions, who are making their debut in this prestigious tournament, are set to face the Moroccan giants in the final preliminary round.

The first leg of the encounter will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 15, 2024. FC Samartex will have the home advantage, and Nsenkyire believes this will be crucial as they aim to build a strong foundation for the return leg. A week later, the team will travel to Morocco for the second leg, with the goal of advancing to the group stages of the competition.

In a recent interview with JoySports, Nsenkyire expressed his confidence in his team’s ability to compete at the highest level. “We are not moved by names; if it were only about names, we would not be where we are today,” he said. His remarks underscore a determined attitude and a belief that their performance on the field will speak louder than their opponents’ reputation.

Nsenkyire also reflected on their previous successes, citing their victory against Victoria United in Douala as proof of their resilience and capability. “Nobody gave us a chance when we went to Douala, but we secured victory there and repeated it at home,” he noted. This track record has bolstered their confidence as they prepare for this significant challenge.

The FC Samartex President assured fans that the team is fully focused and maintaining their usual training routines. “We are focused, and we are going to take it game by game,” he added. This approach highlights their commitment to treating each match with the seriousness it deserves.

Before their continental campaign begins, FC Samartex has a busy schedule ahead. They will first face FA Cup winners Nsoatreman FC on August 31 in the Champion of Champions clash. Following that, they will kick off their Premier League season with a match against Dreams FC next month. This packed calendar reflects a crucial period for the club as they aim to make a strong start in both domestic and continental competitions.
