Senegalese Foreign Minister Yacine Fall held bilateral talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on Thursday, August 29.

The meeting focused on key areas such as education, investments, energy, and the pressing security concerns in the Sahel region.

During a joint press conference, Lavrov reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to providing military assistance to Senegal and other African nations.

He stated, “Russia is prepared to support Senegal and other African countries in enhancing their defense capabilities and improving the counter-terrorism readiness of their armed forces and special services.”

Meanwhile, Yacine Fall emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of mineral fertilizers and technology exchange, as reported by Russian news agency Tass.

The meeting sets the stage for a Russia-Senegal business forum scheduled for October, which aims to further strengthen economic ties between the two nations.

This diplomatic engagement highlights the growing cooperation between Russia and Senegal, particularly in areas critical to regional stability and economic development.
