Bournemouth has bolstered their goalkeeping options by signing Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal.

The 29-year-old Spanish international, who is the world’s most expensive goalkeeper, joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 for a record fee of £71 million.

Kepa’s decision to join Bournemouth was influenced by his reunion with former teammate and current Cherries manager, Andoni Iraola. “I know Andoni well, and he spoke very positively about everything here,” Kepa said.

The goalkeeper spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, where he played a crucial role in their La Liga and Champions League victories.

His impressive performances during his loan spell prompted Chelsea to extend his contract by a year.

By signing Kepa on loan, Bournemouth has secured the services of a highly talented and experienced goalkeeper.

The Cherries’ chief executive, Neill Blake, expressed his excitement about the signing and believes that Kepa will be a valuable addition to the team.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth’s winger Jaidon Anthony has joined Burnley on a season-long loan. Anthony previously played under Scott Parker at Bournemouth and will now reunite with his former manager at Turf Moor.
