Bawumia Highlights Free SHS Achievements, Calls for NPP Support

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has underscored the impact of the free senior high school (SHS) policy and its benefits for Ghanaians.

As part of his ‘It Is Possible’ campaign, Dr. Bawumia visited the Bono East Region on Tuesday, connecting with local leaders, stakeholders, and residents to rally support for the 2024 general elections.

In his campaign speech, Dr. Bawumia praised the NPP government’s successful rollout of the free SHS initiative, highlighting the positive outcomes for many Ghanaians. He emphasized that despite opposition from figures like John Mahama, the NPP fulfilled its promise.

“We committed to the free SHS policy, and we achieved it despite the challenges,” said Dr. Bawumia. “The benefits are evident, and the NPP deserves recognition for this accomplishment.”

Continuing his campaign, Dr. Bawumia also visited the Abetifi and Mpraeso constituencies in the Eastern Region. The paramount chiefs of Mpraeso lauded his leadership, encouraging Ghanaians to ignore the criticisms from opposition detractors. They commended his efforts, noting that Ghana’s global rankings have improved in several areas due to his contributions.

“Dr. Bawumia is often unjustly labeled a liar,” they stated. “However, his achievements speak for themselves. Thanks to his leadership, Ghana is now among the top three globally in various fields.”
