Mz Nana Wins Gospel Artiste of the Year at 2024 Ghana Music Awards-USA

Ghanaian-born, U.S.-based gospel musician Mz Nana has added another feather to her cap by winning the prestigious Gospel Artiste of the Year USA award at the 2024 Ghana Music Awards-USA. The ceremony, held at the Grand Resort Hotel in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, recognized Mz Nana’s outstanding contribution to the diaspora music community.

Mz Nana’s soul-stirring single “Oma Ne Nsa So” (meaning “The Mighty Hand of God”) secured the award, resonating with gospel music lovers both in Ghana and abroad. Her music, filled with messages of hope and divine intervention, reflects her deep-rooted faith and commitment to inspiring others through her craft.

In her own words, Mz Nana created “Oma Ne Nsa So” to remind listeners that “at His own appointed time, God will lift His mighty hand over every difficult situation and grant us eternal peace and victory.” The accompanying music video, shot by Tyron Films, has gained traction on YouTube, further cementing her impact in the gospel music scene.

Mz Nana’s journey in gospel music began at a young age in Ghana, where she sang at Sunday schools and youth conventions. Her passion for singing and faith grew as she joined the Kings Chapel Vine Yard in Madina, Accra. Even after moving to the United States, Mz Nana continued her ministry in music, actively participating in church choirs and praise teams.

Currently, Mz Nana serves as a praise and worship leader at the International Miracle Chapel in Burtonsville, Maryland. Her dedication to her craft is supported by her husband, Dr. Francis Otchere, who is also the executive producer behind their production.

In addition to her musical achievements, Mz Nana is also an entrepreneur, having recently opened “Nayak Beauty Supply” in Chantilly, Virginia. As a licensed cosmetologist, certified sisterlocks consultant, and hairstylist in Virginia, she has successfully balanced her passion for music with her entrepreneurial endeavors.
