Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 election, has made a bold assertion.

NAPO claims that former President John Mahama plans to cancel the Free SHS policy if he regains power.

He also alleges that Mahama intends to reintroduce power crises, commonly known as ‘dumsor,’ which plagued the country during his previous tenure.

NAPO argues that Mahama’s promise to “reset” the country’s progress would undermine the achievements of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration.

He criticizes the NDC’s 2024 manifesto for lacking vision and posing a threat to Ghana’s development.

NAPO cautions against giving Mahama another chance, highlighting the four-year-long power crisis during his previous tenure.

He recalls the severe power crisis, known as “dumsor,” which lasted for four continuous years under Mahama’s watch.

NAPO attributes the power crisis to “total mismanagement and bad leadership” by Mahama.

He credits the NPP, which assumed office in 2017, with implementing better policies to effectively deal with the power crisis.

NAPO reminds Ghanaians of the businesses that collapsed during the NDC administration’s “Dumsor” era, urging them not to give Mahama another chance to restore power crises.
