Korle Bu Partners with Ga Mantse to Launch 24-Hour Pharmacy

Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, CEO of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, announced a new 24-hour pharmacy project designed to enhance the hospital’s pharmacy services. This initiative aims to provide comprehensive support to patients around the clock.

In an exclusive interview with Atinka News’ Vivian Adu, Dr. Ampomah outlined that the new pharmacy complex will include an ATM farm, retail space, restaurant, supermarket, and a rooftop area for relaxation. The facility will also feature a dedicated section to cater to patients with insurance needs.

Dr. Ampomah emphasized the significance of this project, noting that Korle Bu has touched the lives of every Ghanaian household in some capacity—whether through birth, work, training, or care. He stressed the importance of such initiatives to maintain high standards of care and to position Korle Bu as a leader in healthcare.

The CEO expressed gratitude to corporate organizations and suppliers who have supported Korle Bu’s various projects. He also called on others to contribute, especially as the hospital celebrates its centenary.

This project is part of the yearlong centenary celebrations of Korle Bu, themed: “Hundred years of leadership in quality healthcare delivery, through training, research, innovation, and partnerships. 100 years of memories, 100 years of saving lives, 100 years of groundbreaking interventions, 100 years of innovation, and the depth of training quality personnel.”
