Ghanaian singer Kurl Songx has openly expressed regret over his decision to part ways with Kaywa’s Highly Spiritual record label, acknowledging that he may have acted too hastily. Reflecting on his career journey, Songx conceded that his departure from the label, which played a pivotal role in his rise to fame, might have been premature.
In a recent interview with Adom TV’s Maame Boatemaa, the artist behind the hit song “Jennifer Lomotey” discussed the lessons he learned from his experience as an independent musician. He admitted that his transition to independence was more challenging than anticipated, revealing a newfound appreciation for the support he received from the Highly Spiritual label.
“I realize now that I wasn’t patient enough. I should have taken my time. As a young artiste, I moved too quickly. Being independent isn’t as easy as it seems; you only understand the work involved when you step out on your own. It made me appreciate Kaywa (Papa) even more. It’s not easy for someone to lift you from nowhere. The least I could have done was to be grateful,” Kurl Songx said.
