John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer, has vowed to revive Ghana’s economy if elected in December.
Speaking in Kasseh, Ada, on the first day of his Greater Accra Regional Campaign, Mahama criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration for taking the country “backwards” in the last eight years.
He highlighted the country’s struggles with debt, high commodity prices, and a depreciating Cedi.
Mahama described the 2024 Election as a choice between “moving forward and going backwards.”
He urged voters to choose the NDC to work “in the interest of the people.”
The former President emphasized the need for hard work to restore the economy and state-owned enterprises.
Mahama reiterated plans for a Women’s Bank and National Apprenticeship Programme to “reset” the economy.
In Bonikope, Sege, he thanked supporters and warned against financial inducements and “sweet promises” from the ruling party.
Mahama highlighted Ada’s tourism and economic potential, promising a “fair share of the National Cake” under his administration.
He emphasized the NDC’s role as “nation builders” committed to making Ghana a better place for all citizens.
