Real Madrid secured their first La Liga victory of the season with a hard-fought home win over Real Valladolid.
The champions, playing with Kylian Mbappe in his home debut, struggled to find their rhythm for much of the game.
However, a breakthrough from Federico Valverde in the second half opened up the game, allowing substitutes Brahim Diaz and Endrick to add to the scoreline.
Valverde’s deflected shot in the 50th minute gave Real Madrid the lead.
The goal followed a frustrating first half for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, as Valladolid’s defensive tactics limited the space for Madrid’s attacking trio of Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, and Rodrygo.
Once Valverde’s goal broke the deadlock, the game became more open, allowing Real Madrid to exploit the space. Mbappe had several good opportunities but was unable to mark his home debut with a goal.
Brahim Diaz made it 2-0 in the 88th minute, collecting a long ball from Eder Militao and dinking it over the Valladolid goalkeeper.
The 18-year-old Endrick then added gloss to the scoreline in the final minute of added time with a powerful shot inside the near post.
Endrick’s appearance marked a significant moment for Real Madrid. The Brazilian prodigy, who agreed to join the club in December 2022, only officially joined this July due to FIFA regulations.
Despite playing just over 10 minutes, Endrick has already made a positive impression and is considered a promising young talent.
Real Madrid’s next match is against Las Palmas on Thursday.
