Musician Justin Bieber, 30, and model-entrepreneur Hailey Baldwin, 27, have announced the arrival of their first child. The couple confirmed the joyous news on Friday, August 23.
In an Instagram post, Justin Bieber shared a heartfelt message: “WELCOME HOME JACK BLUES BIEBER.” Hailey Baldwin echoed this announcement on her Instagram Stories, including the child’s name along with a teddy bear and blue heart emoji.
The news was met with excitement from family members. Justin’s mother, Pattie Mallette, tweeted, “CONGRATULATIONS @justinbieber & Hailey. I LOVE YOU FOREVER BABY JACK!!” Stephen Baldwin, Hailey’s father, retweeted Mallette’s message and added, “Amen, Congratulations to you and may God continue to bless our family.”
The couple first revealed they were expecting in May 2024, with a representative for Hailey confirming that she was just over six months pregnant at the time. In a memorable announcement video, Hailey, dressed in a white lace Saint Laurent gown, displayed her baby bump while Justin wore an Atlanta Braves baseball cap and black jacket.
The couple, who married in 2018, have previously shared their aspirations to grow their family. Last October, Hailey expressed to GQ her excitement about motherhood, tempered with some apprehensions. “I literally cry about this all the time!” she admitted in a May interview with The Sunday Times. “I want kids so bad but I get scared. It’s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends. I can’t imagine having to confront people saying things about a child.”
Hailey concluded, “We can only do the best we can to raise them,” emphasizing, “As long as they feel loved and safe.”
