John Peasah, known to many as Drogba from the popular Ghanaian series Yolo, has publicly expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaians and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for their support during his fight against a demyelinating disease.
Peasah, who has been grappling with Stiff Person Spectrum Disorder and GAD Positive Cerebellar Ataxia, has been vocal about his need for financial assistance to continue his treatment abroad. The situation garnered significant attention, leading to a personal visit from Vice President Dr. Bawumia, who offered his support during this difficult period.
In an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, Peasah emphasized that despite the support he has received, he still requires substantial financial help. “The problem now is I am not seeing any improvement, so I am reaching out to him. I know he is busy with his campaign but I’m trying to let him know that this is his promise to me,” Peasah explained.
The actor took the opportunity to remind both the public and the Vice President about the ongoing support needed. He added, “I am very grateful to him for coming to show support and honouring me in my home.”
Peasah urgently needs $280,000 to cover his continued medical treatment. His situation has become increasingly dire, as his current treatments have proven ineffective, and his financial resources are nearly exhausted. In an Instagram post dated August 14, 2024, he disclosed, “Unfortunately, I’m not responding to treatment and have been spending almost all my resources, which are now almost depleted.”
