Ghana Tourism Authority Launches 2024 ‘December in GH’

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has officially launched the sixth edition of the highly anticipated ‘December in GH’ events and festivities calendar. The launch, held at the Castle Gardens in Osu on Friday, August 23, 2024, marks another milestone in the success of the Beyond The Return initiative, which debuted in 2019.

This year’s edition promises a diverse array of activities spread across various regions, ensuring a widespread celebration. Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Andrew Agyapa Mercer, highlighted the significant economic impact of both the Year of Return and December in GH on Ghana’s economy. “Year of Return and December in Ghana have had substantial impacts on Ghana’s economy, and we can’t underemphasize that. My outfit is committed to promoting this initiative,” he remarked.

Agyapa Mercer also commended the leadership behind the initiative, particularly the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyeman, whose vision and hard work have continually placed Ghana in the international spotlight. Agyeman explained the rigorous selection process for events included in the official calendar, ensuring their success and enjoyability for all attendees.

“I encourage all Ghanaians to join in this year’s mission to give Ghana a global appeal and make all events lined up from sceneries and education through to nightlife and recreation a success,” Agyeman urged.
